Taylor Hamilton is an international urbanist, equity advocate, and woodworker. Hailing from the South, Taylor got their undergraduate degree in international economics from the University of Kentucky and their master’s in public administration from Syracuse University. She has built a reputation for helping public and private organizations advance their missions as a management consultant. They have worked with non-profit organizations in the US and abroad, most recently advancing human rights in Japan, where they were introduced to Japanese furniture-making techniques. Taylor joined PTSW in 2025 as the Executive Director after completing the school’s 6-month intensive course. Her experience in community development and passion for woodworking have uniquely positioned her to lead PTSW in furthering its mission.
You can spot Taylor off campus at a local sushi spot, cute bookstore, or admiring joinery.
When asked why it is so difficult to hand-cut joinery, the master replied, “What is so hard about it? Just measure right, mark right, and cut right.”
