Chris Landingin

Chris believes that skill sharing connects us to our environment and to each other. Building, making, and repairing skills can help us meet the challenges in our world with confidence and resilience. Everyone should have access to learning these skills.

After studying Anthropology and Human Development at UCLA, Chris began his building career in the exhibit workshops of the Smithsonian. Wanting to shift preservation focus from artifacts to relationships and ecologies, he became an intern at the Yestermorrow Design/Build School in Vermont, where he earned his Sustainable Design Certificate. Chris moved to Seattle and became a residential design/build remodeler in 2012. He has worked in cabinet shops, on remodels from foundation through finish, and managed projects as well as several build teams.

Being a BIPOC trans man in the residential construction and woodworking industries, the skills he has earned have been hard-won. It is his life’s work to share these skills through teaching and encourage others along their own skill-seeking paths.
