Reconnect with instructors and classmates, meet alumni from other courses, visit instructors’ home shops, attend the Founders’ Award Ceremony honoring one of our woodworking community members, and enjoy good food and other social activities with old friends and new friends!

Friday

5:30pm - 8:30pm: Meet at Pourhouse for pizza & beer
21 and over
Kick off the weekend at the number one favorite spot for locals. We’ll bring the pizza and some non-alcoholic beverages. Attendees may purchase beer, cider or wine from Pourhouse.

Saturday

8:30am: Breakfast suggestion: “The Cup”
Friends and family welcome. Get together over coffee and excellent breakfast selections at The Cup, just up the hill from Safeway. Coordinate carpools to various PTSW activities or figure out who else is going to watch the Kinetic Sculpture Race Parade.

10am - 12pm: Open Shop Tours
Artists and instructors Tim Lawson and Kevin Reiswig welcome you onto their property and into their creative spaces to talk woodworking and shop setup, or to just catch up! No RSVP required.

10am - 4pm: Kinetic Sculpture Race & Parade
One of the most popular annual events for locals, the Kinetic Sculpture Race floods downtown with whimsical characters and colorful contraptions. This is a fun choice for family members while alumni tour shops and catch up with former instructors. ___

Noon: Lunch Suggestion: Courtyard Cafe
We’ll hold a table at a favorite downtown lunch spot, right in the middle of the shops and Kinetic festivities. Order up front then find our table, or just stop by and hang out between Kinetic fun and shop tours! Friends and family welcome.

1pm - 3pm: Open Shop Tours
Join Jim Tolpin and Seth Rolland in their private woodworking studios to discuss shop design, techniques, current projects, and more!

4pm - 6pm: Backwoods Bocce at Fort Worden
Meet at building 304 for a competitive game of Backwoods Bocce. Free your bocce balls from controlled environments; get lost in the trees, enlist a wandering deer to kick a few balls in your favor. It’s all good when it’s Backwoods! Friends and family welcome.

6pm - 10pm: Alumni dinner and Founders’ Award Ceremony
Founders, faculty, staff, alumni and current students will gather to celebrate the accomplishments of artist, teacher, and Foundations grad Andrea Ramsay. Andrea will speak to attendees about her work and present a slide show. RSVP required.

Sunday

8:30am - 10:30am: Pastries and Pictures
Back to where it all began. Gather at Building 315 for coffee, tea, and sweet, savory, gluten-free and gluten-full pastries. We’ll take a group photo at 9am and bid farewell until the next alumni weekend.
