His work was featured in the July 2012 issue of American Craft Magazine in an article titled “Industrial Strength.” He earned his BFA from The College for Creative Studies in Detroit, Michigan in 2010 and his MFA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2014.

He participated in the second annual Open Studio Residency at the Haystack Mountain School of Crafts in 2014. Nicholas was an Artist in Residence at Arrowmont School of Crafts in Gatlinburg, Tennessee in 2014-2015 and at the Appalachian Center for Crafts in Smithville, Tennessee from 2015-2016.
