Mike Rainey

Having a love for the trades, I built my first airplane with my first tool kit at the age of 7, got into composites at age 12 and took every shop class offered. My family’s background is in construction, farming and logging in Idaho.

My career interest is in business and finance where I soon found myself in the manufacturing of composite parts and business development. I worked my way up from Operational Auditing to a Controllers position. A job as CFO in the boat building industry brought me to the Olympic Peninsula. With my interest in business development I transitioned to work with the Makah tribe as their Business Manager.

While working with the tribe, Peninsula College asked if I would teach courses in composites and advanced manufacturing that focused on LEAN manufacturing which I did for four years under the AIR Washington grant.

Away from work I am involved in Scouting and restoring homes, cars and motorcycles.
